With God on our side, it’s game over.

Romans 8: 31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

I’m going to start with a recommendation, go read Romans 8: 28-39. If you don’t feel something at a basal level, something good and pure and blessed you may want to call 911 because you may be flat-lining. It’s really all summed up perfectly in verse 31 in the form of a question that for us believers is simple to answer and one which Paul probably actually made the Romans answer. Hint: the answer is “No one.”

That’s really it, isn’t it? No one, though they may try (and they will, believe me), to separate us from our faith our God or our game can really be seen as a threat. Our adversaries may number in the tens or the hundreds but if we have God on our side, well who needs to keep picking teams? The game is decided already and it’s a blowout.

Earlier in the scripture Paul tells us that if God knew us before then we’re predestined and if we’re predestined then we’re called and if we’re called then we’re justified and if we’re justified, then we’re glorified. It’s a waterfall, a progression of blessings that let us know that if we’re “in”. We’re in and if we’re in, we’re winners. ‘Conquerors” is actually the word he uses in the text.

I don’t know about you but I have days where I just want to win with the remote. The world smacks me around and tells me I’m inadequate. I need to remember that as long as God knows me that chain of events just keeps clicking up, clicking up, clicking up; until nobody can defeat me. I’m a winner. We’re all winners. Here’s hoping you and I can remember that today.

The Everyday Question: What’s one small ‘win’ you’ve experienced lately? I’d like to hear about it.

Does somebody in your life really need a win or some encouragement? If you think this might help, please share it with them.
